Philip Gooden

I've been working over 40 hours a week lately and as such have had little time to read except before I go to bed. As such, my list of completed books is sadly short:

  • 07/01/08 Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code, by Eoin Colfer
  • 09/01/08 Memnoch the Devil, by Anne Rice
  • 23/01/08 The Horse and His Boy, by Clive Staples Lewis
  • 23/01/08 Hamlet, by William Shakespeare (Audio Book)
  • 23/01/08 Mask of Night, by Philip Gooden

I really enjoyed reading Mask of Night by Philip Gooden. This book is a Shakespearean murder mystery. That is, it is set in the time of Shakespeare from the prospective of a player who has the honour of performing Shakespeare's plays. Philip Gooden doesn't seem to be very renowned, but don't let that stop you from reading his books. If you are a fan of Shakespeare and you like crime novels, then you will enjoy his books.

Recently Read

With the upcoming release of Prince Caspian at the cinemas, I thought it best to start reading the entire Chronicles of Narnia. So far I've only ventured as far as The Horse and His Boy, but it shouldn't take too long to read the rest of them.

I also picked up Artemis Fowl to read in between the longer novels and found it quite fun and easy to read, so I'm also working my way through that series.

Here's a list of what I've recently finished reading, (or listening to in the case of the Shakespeare plays):
  • 19/12/07 Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
  • 20/12/07 Trolius and Cressida by Shakespeare (Audio Book)
  • 27/12/07 Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident by Eoin Colfer
  • 29/12/07 The Wish List by Eoin Colfer
  • 30/12/07 The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by Clive Staples Lewis
