The Queen of the Damned

Last night I finished reading The Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice. It ended differently to what I expected. Having watched the movie first, I thought that the 'Queen of the Damned' would go out in the same fashion, but rather the movie had a much more elegant ending then that of the book. The demise of Akasha was much more graphically disturbing than I thought it would be, and for this reason it is not surprising that they didn't put the same ending in the movie, as it was a bit grotesque. I've now moved on to reading The Tale of the Body Thief which is the fourth book in The Vampire Chronicles.
